Stucco Repair Cost Calculator
Most people want a number before they want a visit, so this page gives you one. Tell it what you are seeing and how much wall it covers, and it pulls the matching range off our price sheet. There is no sign-up and nobody calls you afterward.
How we built the ranges
Every figure comes straight off the same sheet we quote from. The four questions above do the work our estimator would do standing in your driveway:
- What is wrong sets the starting price. It is the biggest factor by far: a few cracks start around $200, while redoing the skin on a whole house runs into five figures.
- How much wall scales that price up. Larger jobs drop the cost per square foot, and once we are covering the entire house we stop pricing it as a repair and quote by the foot.
- How easy it is to reach is really a question of hours. A second story means scaffold or a lift. A narrow side yard full of plants and pavers means extra time spent protecting things.
- Whether it has to vanish decides if you can spot the patch from the sidewalk.
Unsure which problem you have? Tap the wall with a knuckle and scratch it with a fingernail, then compare what you find against our pages on stucco cracks and hollow or blistered stucco.
Where the range can move
Two of the options carry more uncertainty than the rest, and we would rather tell you that now.
Patches and parapets. Until we open the section, nobody knows what is under it. Good paper and lath keep the job near the low end. Rusted lath, rotten paper, or framing that has stayed damp for years push it up. Be wary of anyone who gives you an exact patching price from a phone photo, because that figure is either inflated to cover the unknowns or headed for a change order. Our patching page explains what we look for once the wall is open.
Colour and texture. Pinal County sun fades stucco year after year, so fresh material mixed to the original colour stands out against the wall beside it. Getting it to disappear means tinting to the faded shade and reproducing the texture, which is skilled hand work. On a street-facing wall, a fog coat over the entire side can be the cleaner choice, and it is better to make that call before we start. Our colour and texture matching page goes into more detail.
Fix the reason, not only the crack
Patching damage while its source keeps going is how people end up paying for the same repair twice. Around Casa Grande, here is what we usually find behind it:
- The parapet. A cracked or failed cap lets water into the top of the wall, and that is the most common reason stucco lower down comes loose. See our parapet leak page.
- Monsoon water. Summer storms find every opening, and a gap left alone in July is usually bigger by fall. Our monsoon prep checklist covers what to check.
- Water at the base. Soil sloping toward the house, or sprinklers spraying the wall, keep the bottom of the stucco wet.
- The house moving. A diagonal crack running off a window corner, or a stair-step pattern, points to movement in the structure rather than the finish.
Whoever quotes your job should tell you what they think is causing it. If the honest answer is that the finish has simply worn out, our restucco and coating calculator prices the whole-house options instead.
Get a ballpark for your wall
Answer four quick questions and we run them against our own price sheet. You see the same range we would give you on the phone.
These figures are our price sheet, line for line: cracks $200 to $800, patches $500 to $2,000 or $8 to $15 a square foot, parapet repair $800 to $1,500, parapet rebuild $3,000 to $10,000, elastomeric $1.50 to $3.50 a square foot, new finish coat $3 to $6 a square foot, restucco $6 to $9 a square foot. What none of us can see in a picture is the damage hiding under a loose or leaking section.
Carry these answers into a quote requestA ballpark, not a bid. For patches and parapets we firm up the price after we open the wall and see the lath and paper underneath.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does stucco repair cost in Casa Grande?
On our sheet, filling cracks runs $200 to $800, and cutting out a broad cracked area is $8 to $20 a square foot. Patches land between $500 and $2,000, or $8 to $15 a square foot. A parapet cap with crack work is $800 to $1,500, while rebuilding a parapet is $3,000 to $10,000. An elastomeric coat costs $1.50 to $3.50 a square foot and restuccoing the whole house $6 to $9.
Why does a hidden repair cost more than a plain one?
Years of sun bleach a stucco wall, so a patch mixed to the colour on the original paperwork comes out darker and fresher than its neighbours. Our crew has to tint to the faded wall and copy the texture by hand, and that takes time. On the street side we sometimes suggest fog coating that entire wall instead, which leaves no outline at all.
Why won't you quote a patch to the dollar up front?
What sits under the stucco sets the price. If the paper and lath are in good shape we only rebuild the cement layers. If the lath has rusted or the paper has broken down, those get replaced first, and where water has sat in the wall for a long time we check the framing as well. The range covers what is knowable today; we firm it up once the section is open.
Is there a charge for a quote?
No. Plenty of jobs can be priced from photos, so nobody has to make a trip. Send us one shot taken square to the damage, one from across the yard that shows where it is on the house, and one of whatever sits right above it, like a parapet, a scupper or a window.
